Buick Motor Company
The Buick Motor Company incorporated on May 19, 1903, founded by David Buick in Flint, Michigan. In 1904 the struggling company was taken over by James Whiting, who brought in William C. Durant to manage his new acquisition. With Durant in the lead, Buick soon became the largest car maker in America, and Durant was soon to embark on several new acquisitions, including General Motors. Buick continues to be built in the United States today and several other countries under the General Motors Corporation.
