The design of the Buick Century featured dual headlights, prominent centered medallion and a redesigned grille and gave the front and all new look in 1958. Included in the variety of features was custom interiors, carpeted floors, safety instrument panel cushion, electric window lifts and 2 way power seat adjustment. Also included in the line-up of standard equipment are front-wheel aluminum brake drums.
Standard engine for the Century was the Buick Valve-in-Head B-12000 with 300 hp and 364 cu. in. featuring a Quadrajet carburetor and double "Y" exhaust manifolds. In addition, Buick's Variable Pitch Dynaflow transmission was powered by two turbines and has a maximum torque ratio at stall of 3.5 at 3000.
