1972 Buick GS 455
By 1972, the clean air campaign was sweeping the country and causing muscle cars to diminish from Detroit's line-up. The Buick Gran Sport would be no exception. In its last year of production, the 350 cu. in. V8 engine lost 20 hp and 15 ft. lbs of torque. Although it did retain some of its features from previous years, including dual exhaust and functioning hood scoops, it did not perform better.
