Streetside Classics - Nashville
6000 Reliance Dr
This 1940 Ford Business Coupe has a great vintage style everywhere from the whitewalls to the pleats on the seats. But if you look under the hood, there's a shining small block upgrade. So this feels like a hot moonshiners ride... and there's even an A/C interior so you don't break a sweat when the law pulls you over.
The business coupes like this were always a moonshiner favorite. After all, the big trunks were ready to carry the best in outlaw liquor. And so these were all about looking inconspicuously stock to hide the true performance within. That's what this one really does well. The burgundy is a sophisticated color, and this has a good gloss to show off all your favorite curves on this classic steel body. We're told it was restored in the early 2000s, and so it has that ideal look polished car that still can give you the incognito kind of feeling you want in a moonshiner's ride And there's plenty of gleaming brightwork on the bumpers, grille, and full-length trim. Plus, we all love the loo of two-piece wheel trim with whitewalls.
The tan interior continues to hide the car's secret with its stock and vintage presentation. It has the quality look of a solid investment, and so while everything has a 1940s appearance, it all feels far fresher. And you'll love the details everywhere from the art deco numbers on the gauges, to the pleats in the cloth seats that match the doors. The only part that doesn't feel like a time warp inside are the controls for the cold-blowing air conditioning...and that's always an upgrade you can appreciate.
You're going to love lifting the hood and showing off the V8 power. There's plenty of polish everywhere from the alternator to the upgraded pulleys. And the exterior-matching streak of burgundy on the air grabber and valve covers shows a creative touch. And just like a good moonshiner, this V8 is upgraded for added power with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock intake, and MSD distributor. This van has an aluminum radiator w/electric fan to help keep the package running cool even if you're in traffic with the A/C pumping. The small block wasn't around during the moonshiner's era. So this one has extra power and flair than they did back in the day, but that just makes it more fun to show today. Plus, with the classic suspension and column-shifted three-speed manual transmission, you really do get the right feel when taking this one down the back roads.
This is such a cool vintage car that it even comes with an owner's manual. Of course, no matter how classic it is, you also know there's a much more modern and powerful heart. So you don't have to run liquor to appreciate the full package on this coupe. Call today!!!
