Lincoln was celebrating 60 years in business in 1978, and what better way to commemorate it than with a special-edition Mark V? While this would be known as the Diamond Jubilee edition, it's hard not to deny how much it sticks out from a crowd when done in the optional gold. And this is a full collector-level package with the numbers-matching big V8, original paint, believed original mileage, and a luxury A/C interior. You even have rare finds like the sunroof!

The Mark V was a true road-owning vehicle in 1978 where it far outstretched even the Cadillacs. So you took notice when one of these came around a corner. But the imposing style becomes unforgettable when done in Jubilee Gold paint. This shows all the right signs of being the factory application, and while you have imperfections from time, it absolutely retains a shine that impresses. And gold trim and gold vinyl roof make the full car look gilded. The acres of sheet metal remain in great condition with the razor-sharp creases that define the Mark V still crisply rendered. And yes, there's a lot of gold here, from the bumper rub strips, the grille, and even the padded insert on the "Continental kit" out back. There's plenty of chrome, too, all of which shines up nicely and looks great for its age.

The odometer is believed to reflect the full actual mileage, which would have it averaging under 1k miles annually. This idea of less use is especially seen inside. The pillow-tufted seats have an almost time capsule kind of appearance, right down to the embroidered inserts on the backs. This was quite an expensive special edition, and so Lincoln loaded it with the best features. It includes power seats, power windows, power locks, a tilt wheel, cruise control, the factory AM/FM 8-track stereo, and cold-blowing air conditioning. There's rarity all around this well-preserved coupe. It's in features like the sunroof and center console. And there are even impressive accessories like the leather tool kit, original umbrella, an extra golden hood ornament, and the sample 8-track cartridge from Ford.

The 460 cubic inch V8 was the one to have in the Mark V, and this is the numbers-matching unit. The big block means big power to effortlessly move this big coupe. This one fires up readily and runs smoothly to remind you that less miles do not mean less care. The supple ride, power steering, and the three-speed automatic transmission are all about being a solid cruiser. And these even have four-wheel power disc brakes for confident stopping power.

Complete with owner's manual, this is the golden special edition Lincoln that has been treated to the gold standard of care. So you know this is the cruiser that's worth collecting. Call today!!!
