This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible comes with upgraded V8 power, both tops, and an extra sporty stance to go with its extra sporty attitude. So it's the true classic that's also built for you to truly enjoy.
Final-year, first-gen Corvettes have a special look. The design had evolved into something much sleeker with the lower mounted set of quad headlights, and the rear was given a smooth and crisp duck tail that featured the now-famous quad tail lights. To go along with this speedier stance, the wheels have been upgraded to a polished set of American Racing 15-inch Torq Thrust units with wider rear rubber. The stock style wheel covers can also come with the sale if you so desire, but we already like this because the big shine goes with the well-done chrome bumpers. The red was a respray later in life. You may want to refresh/upgrade it on your own time, but it's just nice to have something that remains complete today. Plus, one of this coupe's big draws is that it's a driver-ready package. It's from the later years with proper roll-up windows. So it's much easier to fully utilize the folding soft top when you're caught out in the rain. And this one even comes with the color-matched hardtop, too, for any time you want a more coupe-like profile.
Of course the best way to enjoy a C1 is with no roof at all. That's why the red interior looks sharp and shows the right signs of more recent investments. Everything from the dual-cowl dash to the trim on the doors looks quite complete and feels quite factory. So while the radio has been upgraded to an AM/FM digital tuner w/cassette for upgraded driving music, true classic fans can also have the correct Wonderbar AM radio come with the sale, too. A highly stock feeling is what you want on a car like this. They were built for a nice driver's experience with bucket seats, a thin/grippy steering wheel, well-placed stick shift, and full instrumentation w/tach.
The engine bay has the right stock-style first impression with the large shining air grabber and Corvette script valve covers. But all it takes is a little digging to see this is a fully upgraded package. The 350 cubic-inch V8 is a larger displacement than what you got in 1962. It also has a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock mid-rise intake, an alternator, and headers feeding the rumbling dual exhaust. You are in complete control over the full package with a four-speed manual transmission. Plus, handling is upgraded with front disc brakes, Bilstein shocks, and wide BF Goodrich T/As.
This is the convertible for those who love true classics and extra power. So for a C1 that's built to run, call today!
