Stk#002 1967 Mercury Comet Resto Rod
Built from an original one family owned Comet since new this is rust free, built on a 2011 Roush stage 2 Mustang with only 3200 original miles. Have build book with pictures. NSRA Builders pick.
Beautiful body striped and refinished with PPG Black Cherry and Silver stripe down center of car, base coat/clear coat then sanded with 3000 and buffed, shaved doors and trunk, front bumper modified with an air intake panel and lower extension panel to allow air flow and protection to the lower radiator and A/C condenser location, the rear tail lights and trunk spoiler are from a 2015 Dodge Challenger, the hood scoops are from a 1973 Dodge Demon, the rear bumper was re-shaped and fitted with a 2015 Challenger exhaust extensions. All glass is new, dual outside mirrors are new, front & rear window trim is new, wiper arms polished with new blades, rubber and felt new, drip rail moldings are new, 4-wheel power disc brakes. Beautiful car and it sits great!
Complete custom interior done in white pleather, and gorgeous. The dash and console are from the 2011 Roush Mustang with Auto in the console. Black custom fit carpet, floor mats custom to fit, all factory gauges, tilt column, all factory AM/FM/CD radio, black dash and kick panels, white pleather head liner and sun visors, four bucket seat car with console front & back. Hidden door handles, custom door panels and arm rest is white pleather. Sill plates wrapped in black pleather, power bucket seats, drivers side and manual passenger side both recline, power windows, seat belts, custom boxed off in trunk. Battery moved to trunk and hidden. A real beauty!
Powered by a 5.0 Coyote engine from 2011 Roush Stage 2 Mustang and Automatic overdrive transmission, power steering, dual exhaust, 4-wheel power disc brakes. The entire Mustang platform and complete running gear was retained, the platform was lengthened nine inches to match the Comet wheelbase. The rear end and front suspension were narrowed six inches, the Mercury Body was fitted on to the modified platform, all the Mustang systems were retained essentially making it a 1967/2011 Mercury Comet. Roush Mustang restored. The result is a long wheel based Roush Coyote Powered Mustang cloaked in a classic Comet body which makes for modern performance with classic good looks and a ball to drive.
