This 1965 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS is the real-deal Super Sport body that has been given some quality investments. That means show-ready paint, a well-done interior, and even an overdrive transmission. So you've found a true classic hardtop that's also a true cool cruiser.
This coupe has the perfect mix of preservation and restoration. This was born Danube Blue but was traded for a lighter color closer to 1965's Blue Mist. That seems like the right choice on a high-quality respray because the silvery undertones really love to radiate in the sunlight. And this added shine goes great with the mirror-like chrome bumpers, bright trim, and classic Rally wheels. This is such a clean and correct package, right down to the pliable feel of the weather-stripping. The whole coupe has a true classic look, and even the odometer reflects the actual mileage. You'll get a kick out of telling people this has only averaged about 1,700 miles annually. Or you can drive another 5,200 miles and roll it back over. After all, with the outstanding condition the body is in, there will even be some people that all those zeros on the odometer are just part of a beautiful preservation.
The interior keeps a classic style and also cleverly integrates upgrades. For example, the seats have the right upholstery pattern for stock, but they have the smooth and cushy feeling of a recent investment. The Delco AM radio is still in the dash, but your real driving music comes from plugging your modern device into the Kicker USB/Bluetooth connection installed under the dash. This continues to be a driver's car with front bucket seats and a center console, but you may also want to count the gears on the shifter. The dual-spoke sports steering wheel has the classic look. It gives you a clear view to the classic speedo and a Moon half-sweep tach added to the center display.
Under the hood is a proper small block V8. The 350 cubic-inch unit was not on the menu in 1965, but the way the bold orange block radiates from within the tidy engine bay may give first impressions that this was stock. But you'll also start to notice upgrades like the finned Edelbrock valve covers, shining air grabber, and newer aluminum radiator with electric cooling fans. It signals there has been a solid investment here. Plus, they also upgraded the power with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock dual-plane intake, Mallory Unilite ignition, and ceramic-coated long-tube headers. And that sweet sound coming from the dual exhaust lets you know you've got a mild cam in this V8. Power steering, power brakes, and wide BF Goodrich tires make for an all-around driver. And the upgrade to a four-speed automatic transmission means you have an easy-cruising overdrive machine.
Fast, fun, and handsome, this Malibu SS will make everyone take notice whether at a car show or just a stoplight. Call today!!!
