Look through our inventory and you'll see a lot of 1940 Fords, but oddly, not many Chevrolets. The big two have been duking it out since the mid-20s, and if your tastes run to the pre-war era, you owe it to yourself to take a good look at this gorgeous 1940 Chevrolet Master Deluxe Streetrod. Tastefully built with a powerful 350 V8 and a lot of luxury and convenience items, this is the perfect rod for the guy or gal who love to drive.
The Black Cherry paint is an exciting, sinister color, and on the curvaceous Chevy's body it looks amazing, bringing out the details and giving it a dialed-in glow out in the sunlight. The body is OEM steel that hasn't been majorly modified. And why would you? The Master Deluxe is already one of the most handsome cars of the era, with tidy proportions, cool faired-in headlights, and a timeless profile. Custom touches do include a billet grille and slick bumper up front, shaved door handles, a smoothed roll pan out back, and killer bespoke pinstripe work that really makes the Black Cherry finish POP. It's not necessarily a show-car any more, as there are signs of use and age throughout, but this driver could easily be kicked up a notch with a professional cut-buff-polish job. Or, drive it as-is and still easily be the talk of the town, because not many streetrods can make an entrance as big as this '40. You'll also note flush-mounted extra LED taillights (just below the stock-style taillights above them), chrome side mirrors, and how the lowered stance of this rod is punctuated by those giant rims stuff into the fat fenders. Sweet!
You couldn't ask for a better place to spend some time than the gorgeous two-tone, tweed-and-vinyl interior. Borrowed from a late-model, the sporty front buckets offer great support and comfort, while the rear bench is more of a stock shape but still upholstered to match. Matching door panels continue the theme, as do the gray carpets, and the unique center console that was wrapped in red vinyl to match the headliner above. The reworked dash was coated in gorgeous silver paint and features a custom pinstripe piece in the center, a full set of classic-looking VDO gauges, and a billet steering wheel mounted atop a tilt column. Entertainment comes from the modern AM/FM/CD/AUX head unit in the center, although driving this beauty is enjoyment enough for most. The massive trunk has been finished with matching carpets and side panels and holds a relocated battery. If you're going cross-country, this is definitely the car to take.
Cruising is easy thanks to the 350 V8 motor under the hood. Making plenty of horsepower, it moves the slick hotrod with authority that the original inline-six could never manage. With an Edelbrock intake and big Holley carburetor, along with long-tube headers and an HEI ignition, it's a reliable powerplant that's also a party on the road. There's enough chrome on the engine to make opening the hood an event, and thanks to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, it cruises effortlessly. Out back there's a heavy-duty 10-bolt rear end that can easily handle the power, and the front suspension is an independent Mustang II-style setup with power steering and power disc brakes. Flashy 15-inch rims are a perfect match and really make this streetrod look modern, and they come wrapped in meaty, staggered rubber that fill the fenders perfectly.
Fully sorted and ready to go cross-country, this awesome Chevy hotrod is a great show-and-go cruiser that'll make you smile every time you see it. Call today!
