DESCRIPTION

If it were not for the cool two-tone color theme, we'd probably try to call this one the Little Red Wagon. That's because this 1966 Dodge A-100 Pickup has a stout 360ci V8 heart that makes it just as wild as the legendary drag racer. And when you look over the full quality of this build you'll see why this has been a magazine feature classic.

A Dodge A100 truck is already a rare sight these days, so you know this one will grab plenty of attention. Good thing that the Tropic Turquoise and white color theme has plenty of gloss and shine. Plus, you'll love the details, like the polished Cragar SS wheels, rounded chrome bumpers, pinstripe separating the two-tone. It's all part of a detailed restoration that is believed to have happened around 2002. And the condition of the truck will make you think it's even fresher than that because we have a large receipt file documenting good care and investments ever since then. It really has a derailed style, right down the liner paint in the truck bed. And did you notice the period-correct spare and color-matched two-tone cooler? So you can tell this is a thoughtful build that will excite for more than just its big power. That's why it was featured in the March 2014 issue of Classic Trucks magazine and invited to the NSRA Street Rod Nationals.

The five-window setup lets in plenty of light so you can really see the detailed style inside. The exterior turquoise returns, and now it's part of a two-tone with black. Low-back bucket seats with cloth inserts, a flat floor, a classic/grippy steering wheel, and a commanding view of the road are all part of the charm of these forward control trucks. It enjoys being quite a vintage machine inside, and so the upgrades are subtle. That's why the AM radio is there for display, but you have an iPod hookup and amp behind the driver's seat to provide modern cruising music. And the only real indication of the big power (besides the exhaust growl) is the added tach on the dash.

The motor at the center of it all is a true Mopar powerhouse. The factory never offered anything as large as the 360 cubic-inch V8 that is currently powering this pickup. It's a fresher crate motor that is said to come from the masters at Indy Cylinder Head. This mighty motor inhales deeply with a four-barrel carburetor and Mopar intake. It exhales with authority as Hooker headers feed the exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. And when you really want to bring the thunder, there are even electric cutouts. It's a well-done package where we even have a receipt in 2021 documenting over $8,500 invested in dialing in this pickup. The Torqueflight A727 three-speed automatic transmission has a 2400 stall, a new Steer & Gear steering box, and wide BF Goodrich tires for a solid and confident driver.

The sale comes with plenty of paperwork, including a framed specs poster, title documentation, owner's manual, service manual, and thousands $$$$$ in build/maintenance receipts. It even has wheel bars that come with the sale... it's not a wheelie machine, but it's just what you want for a bit more Little Red Wagon flair! So you get a terrific kind of classic that has power, rarity, and distinction. If you want it all, you need to call today!
