Rare and gorgeous factory color combination: Coral Sand with all white interior. Very desirable power steering and power brakes upgraded with disc. Beautifully restored. These sporty 2 seaters feature a functional hood scoop and dual exhaust exiting through the bumper. It was 1957 so of course it has tailfins!
EXTERIOR: The body is really exceptional. The gaps are square and flush, the doors never fit this good when they were new. The body is straight, I did not find any rust or bubbles. The paint code is ZE which indicates Coral Sand body with a Colonial White removable hardtop. The paint is very glossy with a smooth finish. All of the chrome sparkles including the bumpers, emblems, door handles etc. The windshield was replaced. Jambs are painted real nice and are detailed. Weatherstrips were replaced. It rolls on radial whitewall tires. The rims are painted body color and the hubcaps are excellent.
INTERIOR: Very attractive all white interior- code XK. The carpet was replaced and has reproduction floor mats. The seat was reupholstered, door panels were replaced. The entire dash area looks great. It has full set of factory gauges including tachometer. It was upgraded with a smaller steering wheel which makes it much easier to get in and out. It also has white seatbelts. Factory options include power seat and windows. Overall very tidy. It fits nice, the knobs and trim are real nice.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: 312-245 hp motor runs smooth. It has upgraded Holley 4-barrel carb with electric choke. The entire compartment is detailed and proper looking. The components, brackets, wiring, linkages, ignition system all look real nice. Features include power steering and power brakes. Upgraded with a dual reservoir master cylinder. It also has optional engine dress up that includes chrome air cleaner, breather cap and finned aluminum valve covers. The reproduction battery is secured properly, the washer bag is hooked up. It has proper glass fuel filter and dated plug wires. There is an upgraded electric fan. It was just serviced- adjusted carb, ps belt and timing. Fresh oil change. Oil pump was replaced.
This is a quality Bird throughout. Restored about 10 years ago and still looks beautiful. The colors really separate it from the others. You head will be held high when cruising this one!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is finished off very nicely. Solid metal painted the body color. It has a complete replacement liner kit. The radial whitewall spare has never been used, it's on a coral painted rim. The jack assembly was restored. Weatherstrip looks new.
UNDERSIDE: Under this bird appears to be very clean. It is clean, tidy and proper. The front end components appear to be in good shape, sway bar end links look new. It was just given an alignment. Upgraded with KYB gas shocks. The fuel tank looks new. Dual exhaust is in good shape. Upgraded with disc brakes in the front, e-brake assembly is hooked up. Bottom of the motor is clean. It has a Cruise-O-Matic transmission. 3.10 gears in the rear end. The floors, braces and frame look like solid metal and are painted satin black.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about t
he last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.
