1969 was the year of the Judge. Pontiac introduced the new option including a 400 cid Ram Air V8.

1969 Pontiac GTO

A true muscle car, the GTO could be equipped with a 400-cubic-inch V-8 that generates 350 horses including a fully synched, floor-mounted 3-speed with Hurst shifter, dual exhausts, Quadra-jet carb, stiff suspension, buckets or notch-back front bench seat with fold-down armrest. There's also an option list that lets you equip your GTO with the ultimate muscle. 370-hp Ram Air IV engine with functional hood air scoops. Plus, hood-mounted tach, front power disc brakes, hideaway headlights, full instrumentation, 4-speed gearbox plus much, much more.

In 1969 Pontiac Introduced the Judge option for the GTO. The option was only available for three years, 1969, 1970 and 1971. Those that know and love the Pontiac GTO know that the Judge is the ultimate GTO. In 1969 and 1970, The Judge include 400 cid Ram Air V8s as standard equipment. While in 1971 the Judge included a 455-cid four barrel HO V-8 that boasted 370bhp and 500lb-ft of torque. Other standard equipment included a hood mounted tach, Rally II wheels less trim rings, rear deck air foil, black textured grills, T-handle shifters and distinct styling with loud paint and Judge decals.
