If you love the factory look but favor colors that command attention, get the best of both worlds with this 1969 Chevelle SS. The beneficiary of a frame off restoration, this A-body is an original SS-exclusive code 72 Monaco Orange car. The body is laser straight and shows well from any angle. From the blacked-out grille and rear taillight panel to the bright moldings around the wheel wells, all SS trim is present and showroom fresh. Power is supplied by a 396 big block restored to L34 specifications with the exception of a Comp XR282HR cam and a GM HEI ignition. Dressed in traditional chrome valve covers and an open element air filter with correct decals, the vintage retains a vintage look. The setup breathes through cast iron exhaust manifolds that exhale into a true dual exhaust system with Magnaflow mufflers. The 396 is backed by a Muncie M20 4-speed transmission that send power to a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.31 gears. Suspension has been kept stock though the rear does feature the optional F41 rear sway bar. Steering is handled by a quick ratio power steering box while braking is provided by power front disc and rear drum brakes. At the corners, correct 14" SS Rally wheels in reproduction G70-14 Goodyear Polyglas tires. The fully restored black interior features bucket seats and an original dash with the Special Instrumentation package. Climate control is provided by an Astro Ventilation system.
