Stk. 1897 1976 MG B
Manufactured from 1962 to 1980 by the British Motor Corporation and later British Leyland, the MGB is considered by many to be the ideal English sports car. With more than 500,000 produced they were certainly popular in their day and time has shown both the roadsters and the grand touring "GT" models to have enduring appeal. Our 1976 MGB certainly falls into that classification. Featuring a rust free body and undercarriage, it was taken down to the metal and treated to a fresh base-coat clear-coat finish in Tahiti Blue. It also received an all new convertible top. Sixty-spoke wire wheels add an extra level of sophistication to this already classic body as does the black vinyl interior with new seat covers, carpet, door panels and dash top. A performance oriented 1800cc 18V four-cylinder engine can be found under the bonnet along with a twin-SU carb conversion, K&N filters and an early style factory exhaust manifold to enhance breathability and power. In unison with its new glass pack style muffler, this engine has a delightful snarl when it comes on cam. The four-speed manual transmission shifts cleanly and smoothly into each gear, exhibiting no signs of worn synchros. Underneath the rust free chassis has been treated to some upgrades as well including new motor mounts, king pins, front sway bar, up-rated shock absorbers and up-rated upper and lower urethane bushings. All in all, this is a great opportunity for anyone looking to get into the hobby and should provide many years of sun on your face and wind through your hair experience.
