If you were a car guy or gal growing up in the fifties, you couldnt help but fondly remember the great cars of that decade. The classic lines and good looks of so many of the coupes and sedans of the day seem to be all but lost in comparison to todays designs. If your tastes and alliance lingered towards Blue Oval products you would have most certainly been a fan of the Ford Victoria. Style and grace are adjectives you hear quite often to describe these beautiful automobiles; then and even still today. The 1956 Victoria was part of the first generation of Fairlanes which were produced in 1955 and 1956. This particular example is clad in an especially striking color combination. Originally painted from the factory in Fiesta Red and Colonial White (KE) over a Dark Gray Vinyl and Light Gray cloth interior (E); our car was treated to (in 1998) a new and more subtle Raven Black and Colonial White exterior. The two-tone gray interior was eschewed in lieu of a much more stunning and complimentary pleated interior that mirrors its exterior. Full factory wheel covers, wide whites and a Continental tire kit add a sensational finish in this exercise of high contrast. Add to that mix, beautifully restored and polished stainless steel and chrome used extensively throughout. In true period correct fashion, our Victoria is equipped with dual spotlights and amber fog lamps which offer complete confidence in lighting up the road or the night when trying to find that occasional hidden house address. Under hood, the original 272 ci Y block was exchanged in favor of a slightly more modern and powerful, 390 ci Thunderbird FE power plant. Coupled to a 3 Spd Cruise-O-Matic transmission this combination makes for some tremendous advantages in acceleration and cruising capabilities over its original driveline. This cars detailing is impeccable at every touch point and will make some lucky someone a most capable and luxurious cruiser that you can drive in confidence anywhere.
