In the market for some rare GM sheet metal? Take a closer look at this awesome 1969 Chevelle SS convertible. One of just 36 L78-equipped convertibles, this is one desirable A-body. The subject of a full restoration, all panels are razor straight with a fresh coat of LeMans blue covering them. Accented by a classic white SS stripe, the paintwork looks great and shows well from all angles. All chrome and stainless pieces are show quality and nearly all of the windows are date-coded factory pieces. Between the fenders, the legendary 375hp L78 396 resides. The CE warranty block carries a K3070 (Nov. 30,1970) date code while nearly all other components are either original to the car or date-code correct. Breathing through the stock cast iron manifolds into an OEM true dual exhaust system, the 396 fires immediately and has a great vintage rumble. Behind it, the original CX code TH400 automatic takes care of gear selection. Unique to the 375hp and 427/425hp cars, this transmission carries a 38628388 casting number with a matching 198390030 partial VIN. Power meets the road through a 12-bolt rear end with 3.73 gears that turn date-coded 14x6 sports wheels with F70x14 wide oval bias belt tires connect the F41 suspension to the road. Power steering and power disc brakes are both in place for a pleasant driving experience. Between the seats, the original Medium Blue bench seat interior was ditched in favor of a Parchment bucket seat set up. Comfortable and stylish, the interior features a number of unique options including a factory 8-track player and rear window defroster.
