 Vehicle Description
If youre a fan of style, speed, and comfort, you cant go wrong with Pontiacs storied GTO. This 1964 coupe is a stunning example which has already been awarded Concours Gold by the GTO Association of America. The beneficiary of a frame-off restoration, the car presents well from every angle and is shown in a clean coat of white paint. While its hard to call anything with GTO badges a "sleeper", this coupe certainly plays down its capabilities. From the stainless-trimmed grilles to the final Pontiac badge, every detail is in place for a strong first impression. Though the Tri-Power 389ci V8 was the top option in 1964, this car takes advantage of progress by offering a 400ci variant with the same legendary carb setup. The foundation is a 9799914 block dressed in blue with a WS decal and replicated inspection marks alongside "48" D-port heads and a factory intake. The bay is completed by correct pieces like the tagged Delco battery and heavy duty radiator. Behind the 400, the original Muncie M21 remains as strong as ever thanks to a 2002 rebuild. Power meets the ground through a 10-bolt Saf-T-Track rear with 3.90 gears. The suspension is stock but detailed well and the combination of manual steering and manual drum brakes keep the driving experience period correct. The look is completed by steel wheels with Pontiac hubcaps and modern Mastercraft rubber. Inside, a code 215 blue vinyl interior offers bucket seats, a push-button radio, and stock instrumentation.
