 Vehicle Description
This 1967 Corvette roadster is one of those cars that fit just right, like your favorite pair of jeans. It packs an L79 350 horsepower 327 V8 and 4-speed manual transmission, plus a wonderful patina that means it can go just about anywhere, including the show field or your favorite country road.

Resplendent in its original code 980 Elkhart Blue, this great-looking little roadster has clearly had a lot of love over the years. A lot of restorers arent prepared for the special needs of Chevys fiberglass sports car, but clearly experts were behind this restoration, and left original details intact instead of obliterating them in search of perfection. The panels are wave-free and this one is much, much nicer than these were when they were new. Gaps are good all around, and of course, using modern paints has resulted in a finish thats miles deep and glitters in the sunlight like a precious gem. The chrome, including the small front and rear bumpers, and all the Corvette emblems have been restored or replaced, leaving you with a clean, sophisticated sports car that has a ton of eyeball appeal.

Inside, the original standard black vinyl interior remains, and its truly impressive. With only modest signs of use, its easy to slide behind the wheel and once youre there, youll feel like youve come home again. The vinyl is supple and undamaged, showing only what most folks would call comfort marks where someone has spent some time behind the wheel, probably grinning like crazy the entire time. A wood-rimmed steering wheel and traditional chrome shifter brighten the Vettes black interior, and all the gauges work properly. Overhead, theres a brand new black vinyl top that stows into a nicely finished well behind the seats, and the original hardtop is also included.

Power comes from a potent and reliable L79 327 which in 1965 was rated at 350 horsepower. Based on a seasoned 1968 block, it still cackles and snorts like the original, and has that wonderful symphony of mechanical sounds that only a solid lifter car can deliver. Nicely detailed at the time of restoration, its clear that someone has been driving and enjoying this car, and who can blame them? Still, all the correct details are still there, from the original chrome air cleaner to the blue stripe hoses and correct tower clamps. The original "rams horn" exhaust manifolds were left as-cast, just as they were in 1967, which is what the judges at Corvette shows often look for. You also note that this car carries an upgraded dual master cylinder for the 4-wheel disc brakes, which is purely for safety reasons. The transmission is a 4-speed manual, which shifts beautifully, allowing the high-revving L79 engine to stretch its legs, and youll love grabbing a quick downshift every chance you get and listening to the side pipe symphony. Wheels are modest Rallys rolling on modern 205/75/15 whitewall radials.

Its very unusual to find a high-horsepower early Corvette that has been driven instead of stashed away in a garage and rubbed with a diaper. Fortunately, the hard work-the restoration AND the first bit of road rash-has already been done for you. All you have to do is call!
