Again in 1966 there were four body styles offered under the Comet marquee: 202, Capri, Caliente and Cyclone. However this year the Comet grew in stature from a compact to mid-sized car. The 289 or 390 cu. in. V8 engine was available with all models. Similar to its Ford counterpart, the Fairlane, the Comet was a contender in competing with GM & Chrysler models.
