1962 Mercury Comet

Improvements and Changes for the 1962 Mercury Comet included round taillights, a new vertical grille bar, increased sound insulation, a roomier trunk and easier to read instrument panel gauges. Also new was the Custom Series that included fender nameplates and, side window trim, deluxe upholstery, a white steering wheel with a bright horn ring, rear seat armrest,a cigarette lighter and a front door dome light switch. The sporty S-22 series was still available and included six taillights, instead of four, a side roof panel medallion, vinyl bucket interior with a console, back-up light and loop yarn carpeting. The S-22 special series was available on the 2-door sedan and now the 4 door villager station wagon with simulated wood trim.
