1962 Bucket Seats |
Bucket seats were a new-fangled phenomenon in 1962 to convey sportiness.
Although bucket seats first appeared post WWII in European cars, the advent of sporty American cars in the late 50's and early 60's sparked the bucket-seat craze. By 1962, more than 1 million cars were equipped with bucket seats.
Today, almost all vehicles, minus a few pickup trucks and large sedans, are made with bucket seats shoving the bench seats into the past.
