The fourth and final generation of General Motors Trans Am Firebird was the epitome of the term Muscle Car. Styling was musclular and eye catching, and the performance meant that this bird' could back up the looks. Under the hood is GM's well known LS1 all aluminum V-8 with a displacement of 5.7L and producing 305 horsepower, this small block is a power house. This particular Trans Am has a four speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly under light throttle and snaps into gear crisply when under heavy throttle. Power is routed back to a GM 10 bolt 7.625 rear axle with limited slip. Suspension is independent up front with lower control arms and MacPhearson struts while out back are trailing arms and coil springs. Bilstein heavy duty dampers provide a smooth and well controlled ride with excellent handling. Braking is courtesy of four wheel disc all the way around, while 16 aluminum wheels and performance rubber puts all that power to the ground. On the outside, the bright red paint and white vinyl convertible top really make this Trans Am stand out from the crowd. Hidden headlamps, fender grilles, and the rear honeycomb taillight treatments lend a really sporty and powerful feel to the overall design. On the inside, the white leather bucket seats contrast with the graphite grey interior and makes for a really nice look with the top down. All the power accessories are present, along with a factory performance sound system with steering wheel mounted controls and full power convertible top. Just press the button and the top goes up or down quickly and quietly. Air conditioning is nice and cold to help cool you on even the hottest of summer days. Driving this Trans Am is an absolute joy. The dual exhaust has a nice rumble without being intrusive, the body structure is very solid even with the top down, and the ride is comfortable and controlled without being too stiff. This is a very nice example of the last of the T/A's, and prices of these cars are rising very quickly on the market. Hurry in fast and take this one home today!!
