This has to be one of the best 1965 Galaxies around. Very high quality, great colors, bucket seats, air conditioning a big block 390 motor and more.
EXTERIOR: This body deserves to be black because it is laser straight. They started with a really clean body. I can't find a ripple looking down the sides, there's no bubbles, there's no damage just a super clean straight body. It fits really nice and tight, doors shut like new. The paint is laid out super smooth and glossy. Jambs are glossy, door seams are dry. New weather strips and window seals. Upfront the grill has been polished, headlight bezels, bumper, trim and emblems on hood are new. All the stainless around the windshield is polished, even the wipers are polished. Trim on top of doors is polished. Mirrors, handles, emblems are new. In back the tail lights, rear bumper are new. Upgraded set of 17 inch Cragar wheels with performance Uniroyal tires. New windshield, new black convertible top.
INTERIOR: The red looks great against the black. The red is all fresh, 1 color not faded. New upholstery, door panels, armrests, carpet, visors etc. The XL comes with the bucket seats and a center counsel. The console and dash is in great shape. I noticed the interior lights work, glovebox is new.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's completely restored under the hood. All the components look new and proper. All the metal is nice, smooth and repainted real nice. The Z code in the vin designates this car came with the 390 motor. It produces 300 hp. Upgraded Holley carb with electric choke. Dressed up with chrome valve covers and air cleaner. The air conditioning system has been restored, updated to R134 freon. It also has power steering and brakes.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This big trunk is all clean metal with a light grey speckled finish. New gray plaid liner. The spare is a matching chrome Cragar wheel. Under the trunk lid and the jamb is painted smooth and glossy. New weatherstrip, detailed latch and has the jacking instruction decal. Comes with a car cover.
UNDERSIDE: Super clean metal, no rust. Bottom of trans and motor look clean and fresh. Front end is rebuilt. Upgraded to disc brakes. Emergency brake cables are hooked up, new shocks, lines, dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers.
This is a no expense spared restoration. It is not just fluffed up with some lipstick. You can tell it was a clean car to start with and someone went to extra to do everything right. Very handsome, big block, air conditioned convertible!
