1971 Dodge Coronet

Coronet and Charger lines were separated and now Coronet's were only offered as 4 door sedans or station wagons with an increased wheelbase totaling 118 inches. The modestly styled rear end gave a "Coke bottle" appearance with 2 large rectangular taillights located in the rear bumper. Standard features on the base models included color coordinated floor mats, rear ashtray, and a 2-spoke steering wheel. Station wagon models came with heavy duty brakes and 2-way tailgate. New for 1971 was the Brougham and Crestwood series. The Brougham was the top trim line of the Coronet while the Crestwood was the top of the line in Station Wagons. Features on the Brougham included cloth and vinyl interior, split-back seats, center fold down armrests, hound's tooth upholstery, and a Charger instrument cluster. A standard V8 engine rated at 300 hp with 410-ft.-lbs of torque with 8.5 to 1 compression ratio was available on the Brougham and no option of a 6-cylinder.
