The 1966 Dodge Coronet

1966 Dodge Coronet

The Coronet was offered with four different trim styles in 1966 with the base option offering a 225 cid 6-cylinder engine. Additional features included electric windshield wipers, chrome windshield and rear window moldings, heater and defroster, plus the Dodge insignia across the center of the hood and the vertical section on the trunk lid. The Coronet was a step above the Coronet and included the same features as well as a convertible with a power top. Around 251,000 Coronet's were produced in 1966 (figure rounded up to the nearest 1,000) and a small number of these were produced with a 426-cid Hemi V8 engine included. According to Galen V. Govier of the production numbers are as follows: Coronet - 2 door sedans = 34 Coronet Deluxe - 2 door sedans = 49 Coronet 440 - 2 door hardtops = 288 Coronet 440 - convertibles = 6 Coronet 500 - 2 door hardtops = 340 Coronet 500 - convertible = 21 *many more may exist 1966 Dodge Coronet Factory Specifications & Production
