1963 Chevrolet Corvair
Again for another year, not much had changed on the Corvair...not even the price. A metal double bar sweeps between the dual headlights and from the side, new trim was revealed with ribbed rocker panels on the Monzas and 700 models. The rear engine design offers superior traction and maneuverability. Front bucket seats are standard in the Monza dressed in all-vinyl. Choose from seven interior colors inclding red, black, blue, fawn, aqua, white and antique saddle. Standard equipment included back-up lights, full wheel covers, vinyl side panels, glove compartment light, rear ashtrays, and a locking front trunk with 12.6 cubic feet of space in the Sedan and Coupe.
The Monza Spyder featured a 150hp Turbocharged 145 air-cooled engine accompanied by a 3-speed Synchromesh transmission (4-speed was optional) and came as a Club Coupe or Convertible.

Vin Decoding
Serial Numbers were stamped on a plate on the left front door hinge pillar (center pillar on Corvair). The Fisher Body number plate on the right-hand side of the cowl gives additional information such as the body style number, the production sequence number, the trim (upholstery) number code and the paint number code.
