Stk. 1852 1937 Standard Pickup (Street Rod)
The first adjective I think of whenever I look at this 1937 Ford Standard Pick-up truck is the word flawless. A complete walk around of this all steel body will reveal its frame -off, hand crafted nature. Concept became reality in 2004; with PPG Green metallic over the main body shell, Tan metallic covering the fenders and running boards and adorning the rest of the truck are hand-painted, Von Dutch style pinstripes in a very complimentary Tomato Red and Green. With the superb quality and condition of this exterior, it is truly hard to imagine that this paint scheme is ten years old! Between its louvered split cowl hood lays a sweet running 289 bored .30 over producing 300 horsepower that is tuned for performance. It features a performance camshaft, 600 cfm carb, chromed intake and modified heads sporting larger stainless valves, beefed up valve springs and ceramic coated headers round out the equation. Handling the shifting duties is a C4 automatic transmission connected to an 8" Ford rear end with an ultra low 2.79:1 ratio for economical cruising. The fully detailed undercarriage of this pristine rod is as appealing as its body with its block-sanded frame in PPG semi-gloss black supporting a Heidts Mustang II style front end complete with power front disc brakes and leaf springs and drum brakes out back. Believe me when I say you could literally eat off of any surface of this truck. Open the vault like doors to the cab and prepare to be amazed; a Grant wood-grain banjo steering wheel framed by two large Classic Gauges ahead, a chromed Ididit tilt steering column and a Lokar floor-mounted shifter greet you as you step in and settle its comfy, full leather bucket-seat environment. Other amenities included aftermarket heat and air conditioning along with electric wipers and an AM/FM/CD four speaker system. If your taste for early Ford pickups runs Blue Oval deep, I promise you would be hard pressed to ever find one built to this level of quality and this price.
