The 1969 Pontiac Catalinas had split bumpers, revised rooflines and vent-less windows. The wheelbase was increased one inch and Catalinas were equipped with all the standard GM safety features. They had carpeting, peripheral front bumpers with Endura rubber center inserts, "pulse" windshield wipers with concealed blades, front foam seat cushions, and upper level ventilation systems. You got a choice of a regular-fuel low-compression 2-barrel carburetor V-8 or a 290-hp 400-cid V-8 as standard engines. Station Wagons had wood-grained dashes and new two-way taillights with power rear windows on the nine passenger model. The Ventura trim package was still offered.

Axle Codes
Location Of Axle Codes: On flange end of axle shaft and on or near carrier
NOTES: The first letter of a two-letter paint code identifies the body color. The second letter identifies the roof color. (For example, the combination 10-50 on a Pontiac would indicate the body finished in Starlight Black and the roof area in Cameo Ivory.) General Motors paint code plate for all models except Corvair and Corvette is located under the hood at the top of the firewall on the left or right of the upper shroud. Corvair paint code plate is on the left cross-rail in the engine compartment. Corvette paint code plate is on the instrument panel brace, below the glove compartment.
