1968 Chrysler New Yorker
Chrysler's most luxurious model of the year claimed to be the New Yorker 4 door hardtop. With power steering, power brakes, a 3-speed Torqueflite automatic transmission. Plus 5 feet wide seats with fold down center armrests and interior panel with the look of burled walnut.
A 440 cubic inch V8 engine is standard with a 4 barrel carburetor and 480 foot pounds of torque.
Underneath it all, Chrysler's unique suspension system of front torsion bars and rear, multiple leaf springs temper the roughest terrains.
Available options were a 6-way power seat control, 3 in 1 divided front seat, 7 position Tilt-A-Scope steering wheel, power window lifts, AM/FM stereo Multiplex Radio, AM radio with 8-track stereo tape system, and Safeguard Sentinel lighting system.
