The 1968 AMC Ambassador SST |
1968 AMC Ambassador
The AMC Ambassador evolved nicely from the late 50's on to the late 60's. For 1968, the hood was redesigned and a new model was available, the Ambassador SST. Another new styling feature was a flush mounted paddle-style door handle replacing the push-button style from previous years. All were offered with the Typhoon 232 cid six or an optional 290, 343 or 390 V8. No longer available among the Ambassador line-up was the convertible model.
Total calendar year production for AMC was 268,439 including some early production 1969 models.
