The AMC Ambassador Convertible

1967 AMC Ambassador

The AMC Ambassador evolved nicely from the late 50's on to the late 60's. For 1967, the wheelbase was lengthened and semi-fastback styling emerged with slightly rounder body contours. The DPL became its own model and was in the top of the line-up above the 880 and 990 series. All were offered with the Typhoon 232 cid six or an optional 287 or 327 V8. Transmissions in the Ambassador leaned more towards being equipped with automatics although a few were stocked with a three speed manual transmission or AMC's "Twin Stick" overdrive. Also available was a four speed synchromesh gearbox in the Ambassador 990 and DPL.
