The 1963 Chevrolet Nova now offerred an SS package in 1963.
1963 Chevrolet Nova
A new grille insert and additional trim spruced up the look for the compact 1963 Chevy II Nova which also now offered its own SS package as a new option for Nova 400 Convertibles and Sports Coupes. Sporting SS emblems, a silvery taillight panel, bright side molding, the SS option carried a additional price tag of $161.00 and could be packaged with the $42.00 14-inch wheel option with spinner hubcaps for a much sportier look. Novas could not "officially" be ordered with the V8 engines yet, as the standard SS engine was the six-cylinder —although many ended up with a small-block V8 under the hood as it proved a mighty combination of power and light weight for many drag racers.
