Ford Motor Company introduced the Maverick in 1970 and to the pure delight of company officials, it was their most successful car launch ever breaking the first year sales record set in 1965 by the Mustang. This 71 model is one of the very few Sprint optioned cars that was produced late that year and preceded the 1972 (one year only) Sprint that commemorated that years Olympics. Fitted from the factory with a 302 ci V8 and combined with a 3-speed (floor shifter) manual transmission, this early fastback has plenty of performance. Babied from new by only 2 owners, the condition of this car is extraordinary. An excellent Diamond Blue (original color) paint job was applied in 2009 while the interior is black and all original.
