1968 Dodge Coronet

1968 included a new restyled design for the Dodge Coronet which proved to be popular for Dodge even through out the years. The Coronet offered a full range of body models from hardtops and convertibles to sedans and station wagons; 16 colors and a multitude of engine options. The sportiest Coronet, the Coronet R/T included many standard features such as a 440-cid 375 hp 4 bbl V8 engine, Dual exhausts, Heavy Duty Suspension package, Heavy Duty Brakes, and F70 x 14 tires. For an extra $457-$712 426-cid Hemi engine could be purchased with 425 bhp @ 5000 rpm and 490 lbs-ft of torque. During the middle of the year, Dodge offered the Super Bee which was based on the Coronet 440 coupe. It offered a 383-cid 335 hp V8 engine with a 4-speed Hurst "Competition Plus" 4-speed floor shifter transmission. Additional features of the Super Bee included bench seat interior, dual exhaust, bumblebee striping and a bulged hood. Also new for 1968 is the Coronet 500 Station Wagon, priced below the Impala and Galaxie 500 wagons.  Standard equipment includes Two-way tailgate, carpet flooring, wood-grain side panel while an extra cost for additional equipment includes an electric rear window, electric rear window washer, power seats, and automatic speed control.

Available Transmissions Interior and Exterior Paint Chips 1968 Dodge Exterior Paint Codes. The first letter or number identifies the roof or accent color. The second letter or number identifies the body color. (For example, the combination WC on a Dodge would indicate the roof or accent area is in White and the body is finished in Medium Blue Metallic.) Paint code plates are located in the engine compartment on the left wheel housing or the left fender side shield. 1968 Dodge Interior Paint Codes 1.
