1961 Ford Galaxie

For 1961, Ford offered 16 different models to choose from. Of those were the Galaxie and Galaxie Station Wagon. Standard equipment included the Mileage Maker Six Engine, 3-speed manual transmission, Full-Flow Oil Filter, double wrapped aluminized muffler, a diamond lustre finish, self adjusting brakes and double lift bright metal trim. If a move up in power was necessary, the Thunderbird 352 Special V8 or Thunderbird 390 Special V8 was an option along with the Fordomatic or dual range Cruise-O-Matic transmissions. The 1961 Station wagons available were the 2 or 4-door Ranch Wagon, 4-door Country Squire or 4-door Country Sedan and came in 6 or 9 passenger models. Inside, there is 93.5 cu. ft of space over 10 feet long with tailgate open – 8 feet with tailgate closed and width of almost 5 feet.
