A more conservative approach, with "jet smooth" lines, evident with the aircraft inspired side trim. Chevrolet changed much of the bodylines from the more wilder '59's. The new look for 1960 suited the glamorous top of the line Impala, as Chevrolet reshaped and separated the "bat wing" tail fins, and added 3 round tailamps to the rear. The 1960 Chevrolet Impala also became the best-selling automobile in the US, and continued to hold that position for the next decade. Total Model production for the Chevy Impala in 1960 was around 511,925 produced. Of that 79,903 consisted of Convertibles. The Chevrolet Bel Air remained the mid-line option for the full sized line up and was offered in 4 different models including; Sport Sedan, Sport Coupe, 4-door Sedan and 2-door Sedan. The Biscayne was the lowest and most affordable priced of all the full-sized '60 Chevrolets. Although, for the first time in a thrift-priced series, you could get extra luxury features such as cigarette lighter, front arm rests, dual sun visors - at no extra cost. The '60 Chevy Biscayne was offered in a 4-door Sedan, 2-door Sedan and Utility Sedan.
