DESCRIPTION

This tidy 1978 Ford F-350 Camper Special pickup gets things right where it matters. It has a ton of terrific vintage details to keep it a cool survivor-style machine, and there are the right investments to keep it a solid-driving true truck.

Truck fans instantly recognize the unique profile of a (Super) Camper Special. Ford pushed the rear axle to the back to elongate the wheelbase and make this a better riding machine for those wanting to use it for a slide-in camper. So not only is it useful, but it\'s also an instantly identifiable distinction for those of us who love HD pickups. In fact, this one really looks like a truck lover\'s pickup. It has great XLT-level details like the big chrome bumper, full-length trim, and classic wheel covers over the F-350\'s robust 8-lug wheels. The factory-correct Cream and Dark Brown Metallic have been given a more recent respray that makes this one look exceptional. You will find some signs of use around this F-350, but then again, you also don\'t want anyone accusing you of having a trailer queen. Instead, the best details are for both form and function. It includes a double tow hitch, big mud flaps, front camper tabs, and a full-size spare under the special side compartment. Even the truck\'s name is unique. The Camper Special was on Ford\'s books for many years before they created these extreme rear-wheel machines. So when they upgraded the wheelbase they also upgraded the name to a Super Camper Special. But the \"Super\" was dropped after a few years when the Super Cab came around. It\'s little details like this that remind you why we love unique trucks.

The interior loves to have a classic journeyman attitude. That means good-looking vinyl on the seats, vintage wood-like trim, and the classic dual-spoke steering wheel. This is even a factory A/C truck (it will need a belt and/or service to blow cold again.) You\'ll appreciate good factory-style features like the sliding rear window and working dome light package. And there are also the right handy upgrades, like the trailer brake control and better road trip driving from the AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth.

This was born with a 460 cubic-inch V8, and so it\'s great to still have this displacement under the hood today. But while this may look stock, if you dig deeper, you can see it now inhales deeper with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor. And you\'ll also see good maintenance that keeps this a strong runner. Plus, power steering, power brakes, front discs, and the heavier-duty three-speed C6 automatic transmission are the kind of worthwhile features to make your journeys easier.

Complete with owner\'s manual, this is such a cool classic Camper Special that is ready right now for a nice slide-in home-away-from-home... or maybe you have even bigger plans for this useful and robust F-350. All we know is that weekend adventures await with this truck, but the only way to have fun with this unique F-350 tomorrow is if you call today!
