DESCRIPTION

For consignment, a 1988 version of the Camaro RS complete with its silver bowtie designation. Yup, it\'s a shower and a fun driver, but always put away in the garage after a cruise like a favorite toy in the box. Gun metal gray, picked personally by the consignor, plenty of aero fairings including an IROC hood and spoiler only available in \'88, along with a 1 inch lower body, make this one sporty monotone but stunning car.

Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area.*

Exterior
Custom mixed, consigner picked, gun metal gray paint covers the straight steel body panels, fairings and front built in chin spoiler of the car. Just above the rockers is a dual black and stainless trimming the wraps entirely around the car. Black trimmings surround the glass, headlights and grille, and is also on the door handles. An IROC Z ribbed hood is on and more fairings for the rockers along with a sporty rear spoiler. On the back of the car are the iconic Camaro shaped tail lights that wrap around to the rear quarters to form a triangle just aft of the wheel wells of the rear quarters. Silver polished 5 spoke 16-inch Camaro wheels are attached to all 4 corners, and noted as \"front\" and \"rear\" wheels because of different offsets. All is just fine with this car\'s exterior condition.

Interior
A snazzy gray and black padded vinyl and broadcloth combo bowls you over when you swing the doors. A smooth vinyl armrest with a long pull arm within this faux suede and has a black plastic panel for the door actuator. The power lock toggles have been removed from the drivers door as has the rear view side mirror joystick. The seats in high back bucket configuration for the front, also use the broadcloth for the front inserts and upper back panels, with the remainder of the seats being black nicely aged smooth vinyl. The rear 2 plus 2 bench also is in the same pattern but with a gray broadcloth upper seat section. Think smoking jacket and a favorite leather billiard room chair! A black console and now carbon fiber custom dash, house all the critical instrumentation, aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio, power steering, power brakes, but no climate control sliders, just a opening of wires. Lightly faded gray carpeting floods the floors and we note the absence of both the headliner and the rear side speaker covers.

Drivetrain
A 350ci non-original V8 gives plenty of smooth power complete with Vortec heads. A single 4-barrel, (650cfm Edelbrock), feeds the fuel and on the back, a 5-speed G-Force T5 manual transmission has been strapped on. All this attached to a 10 bolt rear axle. Headers and a muffler delete exhaust system takes away any spent fossils and air.

Undercarriage
New stamped clean black sprayed floor pans are solid, as is unibody construction. A slight patina for the suspension which consists of independent coil springs for the front, and torque arm and coil springs for the back with a 1\" lowering kit both front and rear All with new bushings and springs. Power disc brakes are on the front and rear and can be seen all with stainless steel lines. We see a full view of the aforementioned exhaust and note the lack of a catalytic converter.

Drive-Ability
A quick starter, and smooth idle until the warmup was afforded to me. I slipped into the broadcloth and smooth shiny black vinyl interior and was grabbed by the seats. A shift into first gear and letting out the clutch and I was off like a prom dress, with great acceleration, smooth shifting, and good handling on the test track. She\'s able to cruise at highway speeds easily. No climate controls to keep my ample frame warm and a horn that wouldn\'t beep were the only 2 frowns I encountered.

Except for the badging, this car is disguised as a mild mannered everyday 1988 Chevrolet Camaro. A look under the hood, as well as the suspension and undercarriage and you\'ll see its all in very good condition. This car is a definite goer, but can also be viewed at any car show you may want to drive it to. Go ahead, get in and turn it over...well the engine, keep the wheels down on the ground, although they have a tendency to spin when you get goosey with your boot!
