DESCRIPTION

For consignment, a real gem with the first generation Camaro which our consigner has owned since 1991. Since that time, he\'s performed a frame off rebuild turning this once mild mannered street car into a full out strip bruiser. Bathed it in black cherry, some fuchsia flames, a fiberglass front end, added in a minimalistic but effective interior, and plopped a 406ci V8 under the hood tokeep this skate running low 10 second passes at 130+mph. Read on and you too will be impressed by this multiple timeSuper Chevy show winner and 1999 track champion at Maple Grove Raceway, and if you are you\'d better get your butt in here because these don\'t last long in our halls. Gone like a freight train, gone like yesterday...

Exterior
With it\'s pony car long front and short rear deck we can note all straight rust free steel, and it\'s all bathed in the deep end of the pool black cherry withfuchsia flames licking back from the grille. A stock Camaro with hidden headlights, small thin bumpers, hidden lamps behind the center of the grille, and chromed trimmings. All of this presents with some inclusions in the finish, runs, chips, cracking, and chips missing from the fiberglass add-ons. The gaps, while nice on the steel, tend to go awry on the fiberglass panels which include the reverse scooped hood and fenders which are attached with Dzus fasteners. Accenting this straight body is nice chrome and clean window trimmings and a stock Camaro tail lights setup is seen as is the centrally located body matching gas filler cap in the center of the rear and also the battery kill switch. 15\" Weld Prostar wheels are wrapped in skinny 5.50-15 rubber up front and sticky 28.5x12.50-15 Phoenix drag sticks. Telling\' ya...Gone like a soldier in the Civil war, Bang, Bang...

InteriorStripped of its original interior, it now has a full roll cage which protects high backed black vinyl bolstered racing seats in bucket form. The lower rear seating has been removed but the rear upper cushion remains neatly installed. The racing seats have a 5-point harness buckle up system. These buckets flank a B&M racing shiftersitting on the hump, and are bordered by slightly faded black carpet. Door panels have been modified with their smooth black vinyl panels, door pulls and cranks, with Camaro badging. Looking towards the dash, the 2 deep dish round gauges are there but are blocked by a pair of AutoMeter gauges and a huge tachometer sits atop the black padded topper. Ignition and other knobs still exist in the angled dash which is in front of a lightweight spoked leather covered steering wheel. In the center, the original panel retains the heater slides but the radio location now houses a panel with numerous toggles and more auxiliary gauges are below. Looking under the trunk lid we note a racing fuel cell, the battery, and twin stainless steel boxes.

Drivetrain
Under the hood and my partner in crime need to slap me as I was totally hypnotized by the machinist\'s dream I couldn\'t take my eyes off of! What did I behold but a 406ci V8 capable of a consignor stated 700hp. It is fed by a Barry Grant 4-barrel carburetor and is topped with a pair of aluminum cylinder heads. Plenty of polished bolt ons, shiny headers, MSD ignition, and an electric water pump are noted. On the back, a built Powerglide 2-speed automatic with a 4500rpm stall converter. Way back to spin the rear tires is a 12-bolt Posi rear axle that handles all that power!

Undercarriage
All rust free with some light patina and with many add ons for performance like a high capacity fuel pump and filter system, independent coil racing springs upfront, and leaf spring with slapper bars on the rear. Drum brakes are all around, and headers are on to let the crowd know you\'ve arrived.

Drive-Ability
This car fires up with barely a turn of the ignition, and idles like it\'s ready to be unleashed. So, I did a no holds barred out to the test track where it performed beautifully. Head snapping acceleration, good rail like handling, and bias free stopping. All pure 67 Camaro in true muscle form and certainly able to kick all those asses and more. During our fast time behind the wheel we did note that the headlights did not illuminate, nor did the brake lights, the horn didn\'t toot, the wipers have been removed and the heater blower is inoperable. She\'s gone! (gone), Gone! (gone)...literally

All are just the results of a painstaking restoration, custom paint job, a strong power plant, great racy interior look with top shelf gauges on the dash, and the beauty of an undercarriage with goodies to ensure things go very straight and very fast. The 1967 never looked to the eye with so much bling, so go ahead and don the Wayfarers on and have a look for yourself!
