It's irresistible when you discover a custom build that takes an icon and gives it an LS1 fuel-injected V8, six-speed manual transmission, and a leather-lined A/C interior. That's why this 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Restomod goes right to the top of your wish list.

A '57 Chevy hardtop is always an instant attention-getter, and there was an investment to make sure the vintage details were looking their best. That means terrific shine on all the brightwork, including the mirror-like chrome bumpers, grille, and trim that outlines every inch of glass. And because the bodywork is quite straight, it crisply presents full-length side trim that ends in the bright fanning over the tailfin that makes this an icon. The gold anodized trim lets you know you're in the presence of a premium Chevy. But you weren't attracted to this one just for its vintage style. It also shows some extra attitude that makes a good first impression. For example, the vivid red paint is a modern clearcoat application. It's a product of full restoration done about a decade ago, and it has been under the same owner ever since. And there are more hints of modern with the crystal clear headlights and 15-inch Torq Thrust wheels that are wide enough for better tires. None of the upgrades ever take away from the legendary style, but they all hint at a special kind of cruiser.

The tan interior makes for a timeless color combo against the exterior red. But what you'll probably like the best is the way it gives you well-integrated upgrades. For example, you have two wide rows of classic bench seats, but now they are finished in supple leather. Custom bow tie door panels, upgraded carpeting, bright dash trim, and full finished trunk make for a quality total package. The retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with aux input means upgraded driving music, and the cold-blowing air conditioning will make you want to cruise with all the windows down in this pillar-less hardtop - even in the summertime. The classic-style steering wheel is now mounted on a tilt column, there's a helpful auxiliary gauge trio under the dash, and have you counted the gears on the floor shifter yet?

Under the hood is a well-done upgrade. This is a 5.7-liter LS1 V8 that's borrowed from a low-mileage 2000 Corvette (with only about 70k miles on it when installed about a decade ago.) And while you have nearly a half-century of progress, this modern fuel-injected powerhouse looks right at home here. So it's easy to spot good details, like the custom Heartbeat engine cover, polished brake booster, and aluminum radiator with an electric fan. But as good as this looks, a motor like this is all about making a better driver. The fires up eagerly, as a proper modern machine should. The H-pipe dual exhaust has a nice low rumble for everyday fun, and there are electronic cutouts that bypass the MagnaFlow mufflers any time you want to really bring the thunder. Best of all, the modern T56 six-speed manual transmission means you have full control over this motor and its soundtrack. It's also great to see investments in newer suspension components, rear traction bars, and a newer gas tank. Power steering, power brakes, and front discs are all part of a solid driving total package.

The right look, the right power, and the right features all come together to deliver the right cool-cruising Bel Air restomod you've always wanted. Call today!!!
