I was a teacher in the late 70's and had to pump gas to make enough to pay my college loans and to survive. I never had to sit in gas lines, since I was the pumper. We were alloted 1500 gallons a day and usually pumped out in 3 hours. The odd/even days created more lost tempers and solved very little. Of course, it all turned out to be a scam. My 67 Mustang had the hood up a lot, as I remember.
