The 1960s were a time of change…Elvis topped the charts, Russia beat the US into outer space, and the Beatles were a world-wide phenomenon. The excitement of the 50’s continued into the 1960s as the baby boomers became teenage hipsters and started driving cars. Perhaps these photos will take you back to that decade in which the muscle and pony cars were born and there seemed to be a Chevrolet Impala cruising down every street. But now, here they sit under brush, snow and rust…buried memories of the past. Hopefully, browsing through these photos will have you thinking back to the time when it was plausible to take those coast-to-coast adventures in the family station wagon because gas was around 32¢ and the average cost of a car was $3,100. Why in 1968, a Chevy Camaro only cost $2,588 and a Ford Mustang Shelby GT was a mere $3,995. What!?! Why didn’t we buy 10 of them? If only we would have known...
