Rare f100 custom
Hello I have a 1973 ford f100 custom with a 390. My grandpa bought of the showroom floor in 83 and took it to get it serviced and ford wanted the truck back. They said it was super rare and there was very limited amount of this truck made Ford never specified what was so important about the truck but just want to find out

A '73 F-100 Custom with a 390 isn't rare. Perhaps the truck was something the person your grandpa talked with wanted, such as a plain Jane short bed truck with specific options. A truck like that would be "rare" only as far as there weren't many built with that specific option package.
A picture of the door data plate would show some chassis and running gear specifics, but not options like power steering or brakes, or air conditioning.
It the window sticker or line ticket were available they could help identify specifics of the truck.

Good luck with your search..
