I just bought a 1963 Mercury Comet today. It is a Convertible custom. Question: I need a to know what the pipe is that hangs down just under the rad is. Smoke comes out of it. Another thing is, what is or are the most common problems of this type of car?

I would think its a trans cooler, follow where the pipe's go and see
