I inherited a 1969 Dodge Coronet 440 from my Great Uncle. He bought it new in 1969 from a dealer in Riverside Ca. He told me when he was alive that he had a truck motor installed by the dealer so he could use it to pull his trailer. Now that I own the car, I wanted to start a mild restoration. Not much is needed, he meticulously cared for it. My question is this, The vin indicates a c engine, 6 cyl 225, it clearly is a 2v v8, also the block is blue green instead of red like I have seen in other Coronet v8's. Has anyone heard of a truck v8 being dealer installed in a Coronet before, and the block stamping isn't by the starter as it should be on a 383 or 440, where else should I look to identify the engine

Where is the distributor on the car? Front of the engine is a big block rear of the motor (firewall) smallblock. You may want to find a casting number on the intake this can help also.
