hey, i just figured out that the carberater is toast on my 1972 chevy truck. i was wondering if any oldriders out there have any expierience with brands of carberaters. i was looking at lmc trucks's $430 quadrajet. but i wasent sure if that is the best to buy. i dont want to just randomly order it if it isent the best. is there a cheaper carb out there? is there a better brand out there? just throw me some answers on your expierience with carbs. thanks for your time.

Holley makes a Spread bore carb that will bolt direct to your Q-Jet manifold 650 CFM for about $350.00. Benn using Holleys for over 40 years and they are a good choice and very easy to tune. The stock Q- Jet is a very good Carb ,but not very many people understand how they work ,nor do many know how to work on them properly, and they just got a bad Rep. My 2 cents !! Good luck
