I have a restored 1956 Chevrolet convertible that I bought at auction that had a cowl tag on it when it went across the block (I photographed the engine compartment but unfortunately the resolution of the photo is such that the information on the tag is not legible). Between that time and receiving the car, the tag fell off (it obviously had been removed for repainting and then just pressed back in place rather than refastened properly). I have been able to resurrect all of the information on the original cowl tag except the body number. The car was built in Baltimore and the B is all that I have been able to come up with for the original body production number at that plant in 1956. Any suggestions?
