I found a guy in New Mexico who has a 1969 ford mustang fastback and wants 15,000 for it. It has a brand new motor with matching numbers, brand new brake shoes, drums etc. also, has new exhaust. This car has little rust on it and appears to be fairly straight. I was told to offer no more than 3000 from a friend in the hot rod scene. I just need some other opinions because I would love to get this car but I don't want to spend too much on it not knowing what I'm getting. I am also a first time classic buyer, of 23 years old with no previous classic or "hot rod" experience. Please help!

take to a repair shop and get estamate to have it as you would what it if it was yours, see if that fits your budget.was just bidding on 57 chevy that needed $ 2000.00to do the interior.[yes two thousaand dollars] it is best to know than get burried into repairs.
