The American Dawson's were first made by the Dawson Manufacturing Co. of Basic City, VA. in 1900 to 1902 and is described as a 2 cylinder steamer, tiller steered and chain driven with possible only 1 ever made. The 2nd American Dawson was made by the J.H. Dawson Machinery Co. of chicago from 1904 to 1905. It is described as a 2 cylinder with 16 HP and also chain driven. I'm going to be a skeptic and doubt that there is any evidence of a Dawson still in existance in the US.
