6 lug 1/2 ton, coil spring suspension. I'm wanting to lower the rear of the truck, but I need to know what size in inches the factory tires were. The only info I've found is:
Front 7.75x15 4 ply
rear 17.5x15 four ply
and those numbers dont make any sense to me.

the new 71 that i had came with H78-15 which is equilavant to a 225-75 -15 by todays standards. the lower the second number the less sidewall the tire will have making them shorter and increasing the rpm of the engine..if you go smaller tires measure arround the outside ,the difference will tell you the ratio needed to have a correct speedometer reading.
